Isn't there a threaded ring or "snap ring" holding it?

There-s brass coloured threaded ring on top of a thin metal ring - maybe this snaps in.Can I prise it out with a small screwdriver?

The second lens is mounted in a thin (approx 1/16th to 3/32) collar which screws into the main tube. I was able to grip mine with some pliars to start undoing it. Once moved it undoes easily. When you replace it make sure it is tight as you can end up with both elements turning when focussing instead of just the front one. Very blurry results!!
