I recently acquired a Retina Reflex III that has a problem with the film advance lever. It moves like it should until it is fully extended and then sticks instead of "springing" back. Also, it does not seem to be affecting the shutter. Is this a stripped gear? How can this be repaired?

It could be one of a few things, Brian. Unfortunately, this is a very difficult camera to repair. I won't say it is the worst, but it gets close. Please do us a favor. Remove the lens watch the shutter blades as you try to cock it. Do they try to open but don't stay fully open at the end of the stroke?
