The film advance lever and my shutter release button have suddenly stopped functioning on my FM- 10. The batteries are fine and my mirror seems to be in the correct position. If my shutter is jammed can I fix it myself? Thanks for your help, Jess

I'm guessing probably not. It's a mechanical shutter, if it's jammed it might be that a screw has come loose and dropped into the gears or something - but no idea just where. You might get lucky and find the problem if you poke around, but then again you might not. It depends on how deeply you're able to dig into the works and get safely out again.
