Hello again! Thanks so much to those who helped answer my questions earlier today... However, I find that the problem is a bit more serious :( I couldn't get the battery cover off, so I had find someone to do it for me... Went to see my friendly neighbourhood body builder & he managed to get it off for me... However, the battery had rusted & there was blue stuff in the battery compartment. Anyways, with some help, I managed to clean off the stuff & was told that the contact inside camera (I assume the negative plate) & the positive contact (the one on the lid) were still clean. Then, we tried putting in an alkaline 625 battery, but the meter wouldn't move either... What else can I try? I may have to take it to Nikon, but want to exhaust all possibilities, 'cause, as previously stated, I am VERY poor :( Help again please!

possible that the battery wire (inside--under batteery compartment--on later models it is visible with bottom cover off) has corroded.
