I have a Flexaret double lens medium format camera, model 5-116831, made in Czechoslovakia around 1930's. It works fine, but the view finder has has some dust making it difficult, except in intense light, to make out much of the images I'm shooting. Further, the shutter sticks every once in a while, double exposing some pictures.

I'm looking for a place that can give the camera a clean up. I live in NYC and have tried a few camera repair places here, none of them will take it under their wing. If anyone has any ideas of where I can take it it would be much appreciated. Please respond to my regular email account: [email protected]

thanks

Stacey,

I am not located in the NY area and unfortunately cannot help with a place to recommend.

I am however, of Czech origins and would like to let you know that a Flexaret Automat was not made 'around 1930', but during the 1960's and early 1970's. Here is Meopta's page - unfortunately only in Czech, but the pictures speak a thousand words.....

Good luck,

Jan

Only in Czech ? To me, seems plain English... (By the way, a good site to visit!)

Sorry - did not notice the somewhat cryptic (even for a Czech) link on the bottom of the page. If you click on the 'Jazyk' link and then on the Union Jack, you'll be on the English pages.

Jan
