The film door latch on my new 5000e wont catch and the door opens too easily. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks paul

Hi Paul,
I assume that you are referring to a Yashica Lynx 5000e. I have the Lynx 5000 and from my experience there isn't much to go wrong. One thing I did do was to make the new light seal a bit too long and when this was tucked down into the gap it jammed against the lock slide, or perhaps the old seal has turned to mush and is jamming the slide. The only other suggestion is to remove the bottom plate and make sure that the spring is correctly positioned under the tab on the bottom of the slide. Nice cameras by the way!
