Is there anything special that i need to know about soldering the black wire on these cameras? Is is basically like soldering electrical wires? Although i dont really know how to do that. Any suggestions on where to start? thanks |

Yes, basically it is like soldering electrical wires. Unfortunately the black battery wire in many cases is not a wire anymore but a strain of severely corroded material which is very hard to solder. I had acceptable results with a stuff called 'solder honey' in Germany - in case the corroded wire did not break during the procedure. I would strongly suggest to replace the wire as completely as possible, i.e. to cut it off as far as possible and solder a new piece of wire. |

I have had some success using conductive epoxy instaed of solder. I am afraid of melting too many joints if I try to solder. I don't yet know the long term results. |

Minolta Hi-matic E exposure problem. Does anyone have ANY ideas about the following problem? My Hi-matic E somethings(rarely)exposes properly, but most times the pictures come out completely fuzzy and negitives very underexposed. I put in new batteries and adjusted the rangefinder and the shutter and aperture also change like they should in different light or when the film speed setting is changed, still no luck. Any help would be greatly appappreciated. Thank you, Colin |

What batteries are you using, since the original ones aren't available. Alkalines in that camera will rarely give you correct exposure. |
