I have a XG-SE that has the shutter cocked but I cannot get it to release the shutter. The meter works fine, the batteries are new? I tried taking the bottom cover off and releasing the mechanism but to no avail. Any ideas??
Thanks
Steve

Do you mean you weren't able to reset it or reseting didn't help it?

Resetting it didn't help. I cannot get the shutter curtain to move no matter what I do. It is in the cocked position and the metal bar is all the way to the right. The metering works great with no flickering so I assume the resistors are ok. I have removed and reseated the winding mechanism on top and checked it to make sure that the gears were properly meshing. Everything looks like it should fire?? The mirror is not stuck either and the mechanism on the bottom seems ok?
Thanks
Steve

Maybe the armature on the release magnet is stuck to the magnet. Stuck, like sticky stuck. The magnet can be gotten to via removing the bottom cover.

Thanks for the response. Could you give me more info on finding and releasing it.
Thanks
Steve
