on the rolleiflexes and rolleicords (besides the very first ones i think) there is always that locking mechnism for the back door: you first swing over the locking arm and then rotate the thing around the tripod mount to tighten the lock and fix it. most rolleiflexes and rolleicords i have seen so far seem to lock somehow in the end position of that rotation, just my rolleiflex does not seem to do so. so my question is: how that locking at the end position of the rotation of the thing around the tripod mount is done? is there a ball somewhere or something similar?

thanks for any information or hints and best wishes

It is an excenter milled into the base plate of the locking arm arm forced over by the lever. If back is not locking it is most likely the stud on the front of the camera that is broken off or worn, the little upright part in the locking arm that is bent ( no longer at 90 degree angle to arm) or a combination of both.

To help you visualize what Lucas has mentioned, here are some photos of the parts as removed from the camera (these are from my junk box so pardon the condition!). You can see the locking arm slot and the stud in the first two photos and the last photo shows what the mechanism looks like with the cover plate removed.
