I have found some internal marks on the front element of the lens listed above. How do I disassemble the front element to clean it? Any ideas? Thanks.
BTW, this is the cheaper, plastic barrel model, that is (without adapter) 3 inches long when at 70mm. |

If they don't effect photo quality it may not be worth it. Special "spanners" are availble to disassemble lenses, cheap ones available on eBay. If it's fungus, and you're determined to go in, find a dust free work space with dry compressed air available, or you will be leaving a lot of dust behind... |

Hi, This unit does not have slots for a spanner. Does the front ring come out with a rubber grip or is it glued in? |

I would think on a cheapo lens that it is glued in, especially if the filter thread ring is plastic. Sometimes you can prove this by feeding a strip of paper between the edge of the ring and the filter threads. Conversely; if there is no space between the front element and the inner edge of the ring, in which to place a thin lever - then the ring make be screwed in. |
