I recently bought a cheap Olympus trip 35 on ebay only to find the iris is stuck on f22.Any suggestions welcomed? Ian |

Mine is on f22 until I press the shutter release and then opens to the metered f stop if the diaphragm is set to "A" or to the selected f stop if I am using flash. It returns to f 22 as soon as I take my finger off the shutter release. I think this is normal. |

Charlie, that is normal operation. The aperture opens as the shutter release is depressed. This is a useful AE lock feature (for back lit subjects for instance, point the camera at a neutral light source, push halfway down and hold, then point back at subject and finish the push to click). |

I fixed my trip quite easily with a couple of small screwdrivers.Just work your way in from the outer ring and clean the iris with lighter fluid. Once you get started it is self-explanatory and it all goes back together! If you want a more detailed description let me know. Ian |
