Hi, Is it normal for the aperture blades to stay in their stopped down position they are in when the shutter is tripped & not to open up till the shutter is re-cocked. Nothing seems to be sticking, when the shutter is cocked & I partially press the shutter with varying levels of light the aperture closes down & opens when released as it should. I only have an S3 to compare with which has a different shutter (the aperture blades are in front of the shutter). With this the blades return to fully open as soon as you take your finger off the shutter without having to re-cock it. I'm hoping this is normal so I can get the leatherette back on it & give it a try. Thanks |

If I understand you correctly, and assuming the camera is in auto, a battery is installed, there is enough light to move the needle to a range away from under-/overexposure, yes, it is. The S3 is, like its sister cameras or clones (Minolta/ Vivitar/ Prinz/ Revue/ etc), a differently constructed gadget, hence the difference in function. |

Thanks Harryrag, that's great news & what I was hoping for :-) This is in auto & with a battery. As I said, everything appears to be working fine, I was just a bit concerned by this. Hopefully will get a chance to get the leatherette back on it Monday & try putting a film through it. Cheers |
