I am trying to disassemble and clean a Yashica ML 50/1.4 and I managed to do it all, but the rear element group, which is enclosed in a metal frame with no screws, depicted here:

Is there a way to remove particular glass piece out of there? |

I just did one of these but didn't need to separate the rear group. But I assumed the rear most ring unscrewed. Have you tried unscrewing it? |

Might be, or it could just be that you're distorting it by gripping it. I usually use a latex glove or similar to give me more grip without having to squeeze too tightly for these sort of things so you don't distort whatever it is you're trying to remove. You can try other tricks like wrapping a bit of electrical flex around the ring and twisting it tightly to grip the ring. This applies equal pressure all around it so no distortion. Putting a latex glove over the ring first will give more grip. |

I use heat to loosen things like that. I have not cracked a glass, heat and cool slowly. Once hot, use rubber gloves to unscrew. |
