Hello,

I recently managed to get a hold of a Canonet G-III QL17, I fiddled around with it as I read the instruction manual to learn how to use it and it was working fine. The next day I went back to it but the shutter was now stuck, I tried winding it up a few times but it stayed stuck. I put the camera in bulb mode and now it is also stuck in bulb mode. The aperture is working fine and so is the light meter, rangefinder, etc. The only problem seems to be the jammed shutter. If anyone could offer any help at all I would be very grateful. Thank you.

The most common cause of the shutter jamming in this camera is the shutter blades sticking together due to old oil on the blade surface. There is an article here for getting in and fixing that: https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/canonetblade.html
