My Yashica cs-201 does not work anymore, despite replacing the batteries. I want to see what's inside but am having trouble opening it. I was just able to unscrew the four screws which attaches the hotshoe adaptor to the flash. Are there any other screws? How do I take the main housing apart? Please help. |

The capacitor in this model has enough storage capacity to cause cardiac arrest in some people if shorted through them to ground. |

You should first try cleaning the battery contacts and make certain the power wires to those contacts are still intact, this is the number one cause of failure.
These older Yashica flashes aren't worth any more work than that, better to just buy a working one, they're cheap enough (for all the Yashica flash models, see: http://www.cdegroot.com/cgi-bin/photowiki/YashicaAccessories ). As Michael says, if you root around inside the flash & make contact with the capacitor circuit you could get a severe shock. |

Ok thanks so much for your inputs. I'll try to clean the contacts first and if it still doesn't work, i'll buy a new one. |
